I have started working on a new painting today, got the preliminary sketch all done. I've decided to do a painting of Shiner and Ryan Rushing. Shiner is an own daughter of our stud Blue. She is a beautiful chestnut roan. Her owners are Ryan and Amy Rushing. Ryan works for Larson Quarter Horses, where he trains and rides Reining Horses. When Ryan was in high school he came to work for us riding horses and helping with ranch chores. He quickly became the son we never had. Love him and his sweet wife Amy so much, and so proud of all he has accomplished in the horse world already. He is a good Christian man who shares his faith willingly with those he comes in contact with. Look for Ryan the next time you go to a reining competition.
Well we are breeding our last 2 mares of the season. They are really nice Peppy bred horses, and are both very pretty sorrels. Should produce some nice red roans. Blue has been a real gentleman, as usual. It's been a good season, now it's on to a long, hot Texas summer.
Well it's almost the end of April, I have 2 mares coming in to be bred May 5th and then we are finished for the season. Unless of course, someone new decides they want a breeding. With all of this unseasonably cold weather, I have a hard time believing its almost May. It's been a hard season this year, I was so looking forward to a foal this year. I sure do miss Sassy. I have severe baby envy this season. I hope that if anyone is interested breeding to my sweet boy, they will give us a holler.
