Jacquie finally found herself a new horse, actually a friend who now owns one of our horses that we raised and trained, had an older retired horse that she was wanting to give away to a good home. We feel very lucky to have Hondo come live out his days with us. Jacquie and the grandkids plan on spoiling him. He is perfect for teaching the younger grandchildren to ride and to allow Jacquie an occasional ride around the pasture.
We were in Tennessee last week for Jacquie's 60th birthday and celebrated Christmas there with all of our children and grandchildren. The girls had planned the trip and it was really great. The best part was to find out that we are to become grandparents again!
We came home on Sunday and then it snowed 3 inches overnight, so we woke up to a beautiful snow filled landscape. The funny part was we had driven all the way to Tennessee hoping for snow and it had been 70 degrees the whole time we were there. Of course the weather in Texas has been crazy lately, we had warm temperatures, some devastating tornadoes and then snow. Oh well, theres never a dull moment around here.
I hope all of you have a safe and Happy New Year, and may you always ride a good horse.
